Stained & Color Dyed Concrete Floors

STAINED & COLOR DYED CONCRETE FLOORS

Staining is, by far, the most popular method for enhancing both commercial and residential concrete floors. Stains can be applied to both new or existing concrete floors and work equally well with concrete overlays.

Because concrete stains penetrate deeply into the concrete surface, they produce fade-resistant, permanent color. Unlike with a paint or coating, the color won’t flake off or peel away.

Floor Stain Types & Colors

Depending on the look you want to achieve for your stained concrete floor, you can choose from acid-based chemical stains, water-based stains or dyes.

Acid Based Stain

Acid stains penetrate and react chemically with the concrete, creating natural color variations that add character and unique mottling effects, similar to the appearance of marble or granite. Acid stains are also good for use on floors designed to resemble wood. The color selection is generally limited to subtle earth tones, such as tans, browns, terra cottas, and soft blue-greens.

The combination of durability and customization options makes stained concrete the perfect choice for commercial flooring, and allow you to incorporate your company colors or logo right into the floor.

Dye Stains

Depending on the look you want to achieve for your stained concrete floor, you can choose from acid-based chemical stains, water-based stains or dyes.

What Is Concrete Dye

Concrete dyes are translucent, penetrating color solutions. Unlike acid-based stains, they do not react chemically with concrete. Instead, they contain very fine coloring agents that penetrate into the concrete surface.

Both water- and solvent-based dyes are available, with each type having unique     qualities. Dyes tend to produce tones that are more predictable and uniform than stains, but it’s still possible to achieve interesting color variatio

Quick Quote

    Please Take Note:

given work place liability, safety of our workers and those within close proximity to the process as well as inconsistent results, we no longer acid etch or advocate its use as a surface preparation method for concrete flooring to receive a resinous system. In order to produce the correct surface profile for the greatest adhesion we use steel shot blasting equipment, both portable and electric depending on what the work environment dictates, as well as planetary diamond grinding equipment for the purpose of readying the concrete for its respective resinous system. Using diamond tooling, our grinding process can be used to remove coatings (aggressive diamonds) or grind existing concrete (medium to coarse diamonds to produce an anchor profile). For the purpose of polishing concrete we can also use finer diamonds to create a honed or highly polished look. We also grind existing paint to ready a surface for new coating.
